Open letter from Commodore. Many thanks to all those members who came along on the work party weekend to make light work of a very tough job, rebuilding the finger moorings. Special thanks go to those members who don’t even moor on our moorings but turned up anyway. Thanks also to those members who beavered away down the towpath or, in the clubhouse and toilet block.
I didn’t get much chance to go round on Saturday or Sunday to see how everyone was doing. I think I spent the whole (hole?) weekend drilling large holes in even larger lumps of steel and cast iron. With a bit of tidying up now the finger moorings will be good and solid for many years to come. I hope you all enjoyed the fireworks and the food in the evening. For me it was a very enjoyable weekend that showed just what a helpful friendly club this can be.
